Introducing…Montague Terrace!

Hi everyone!  I’m your new source on all things Montague Terrace.  If you haven’t heard about Montague Terrace yet, it’s the new expansion project taking place at the North Charleston Coliseum.  Once built, it will act as a concessions area for Coliseum events and as a standalone venue for private parties, small concerts, theatre, etc.  We’ll pretty much be able to hold any type of event in Montague Terrace, but getting to that point has been, and continues to be, quite a journey.  One day (in June!) Montague Terrace will look like this…

But for now, it looks like this…

So I’m here to keep you posted on the progress of our new venture.  Let me catch you up on what’s happened so far: We started construction back in August of 2010, and since then, the pavers on the South Plaza have been dug up, the Palmetto trees in the plaza were removed (and transplanted, don’t worry, we’re green here too), dirt was poured to level the ground, the steel frame for Montague Terrace has been put up, and the concrete flooring has been poured!  For any of you doubters who think that more progress should have been made in the past 5 months, let me remind you that Montague Terrace originally looked like this…

So, I think we’re coming along pretty nicely!  We’ve even booked our first show in the venue, Glorious Gershwin!  Click here for more information on the show.

Anyway, now that we’re all on the same page about what Montague Terrace is and the progress we’ve made so far, I hope you’ll post comments and questions here.  If you don’t have any and just want to be informed on what’s going on in the world of Montague Terrace, check back in about a month, and I’ll have an update for you!
